| Last Wednesday, January 30th was the first day of school for S. and all the other children at her school. Here she is with all 319 other kids in her school. Can you find her? (Hint: she's in the lower lefthand corner and has her hand on her cheek) |
 |
| In Sydney every child must wear the uniform of their school. It's quite strict except S's school is in the process of changing their uniform which is why everyone in the previous photo is not wearing a blue hat yet. Here's S. in hers. |
 |
| Some of the hallways in the school open up to the outdoors. To get to the "toilet" or "bubbler" (water fountain), students have to go outside. S. is in a mixed years 3-4 class. So, in New Haven she's in the middle of third grade. In Sydney, she's starting year four. Here's a picture of children S's age coming out of their classroom. |

| And two days later, S.turned 9! Do you like her "cake"? |
Thank you to everyone who sent birthday greetings! It made a big difference.
We finally have a reliable internet service, so plan to be blogging more. We've done lots of exploring and can't wait to tell you about it. S., especially, would love comments. Thanks!
